Muslims offer special prayers against Ebola

 Tweet Kano -Muslims in Kano State on Friday offered special prayers against the spread of Ebola virus in Nigeria in compliance with a directive from the State Council of Friday Mosques Imams.The Chairman of the organisation, Sheik Falalu Dan’almajir, had requested that the prayers be offered to seek God’s intervention to prevent the disease from spreading in the country.The statement also urged all Imams of other mosques across the state to continue to offer similar prayers against the disease and the current security challenges bedevilling the country.At Al-Furquan Mosque in Kano, the Chief Imama, Dr Bashir Omar, called for continuous prayers against the disease.He urged Muslims to adhere strictly to the preventive measures approved by experts but added that prayers were necessary to check the spread of the disease.The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, announced five cases of Ebola attack in Lagos after an infected Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, died in the country and infected some health workers on July 20.The governments has since then issued guidelines on how to check the spread of the disease.
