Earlier reports indicated that the West African country had banned flights from some of its neighbours
Contrary to recent reports, Ghana has said that it has not banned flights from any West African countries.
This was disclosed by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) which said that the reports were erroneous and misleading.
The news was released after an infected Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, imported the disease into Nigeria.
The GCAA, in a statement titled "Re- Ebola: Ghana Bans All Flights from Nigeria, others" said:
“The GCAA as the sole Regulator of the Air Transport industry and Provider of Air Navigation Service in the country has not banned any airline from Nigeria and other African Country from operating to Ghana because of suspicion that the flights might be carrying passengers with the Ebola virus.
"We can confirm that flight operations to and from Nigeria and other African countries are normal without any interruption”
The Ebola scourge has called for widespread demands that international travel be stopped to ensure the containment of the disease.
