The Police in Nasarawa said on Saturday that some gunmen assassinated the Head Driver of Governor Umaru Al-Makura, Mr. Abdullahi Mairuwa.
The late Mairuwa was said to be travelling in company of his wife, Salamatu Abdullahi, when his assailants assasinated him close to Tudun Adabu, Obi local government area, around 8.30am.
Confirming the incidence, the state police public relations officer, Umar Ismaila Numan, said the police have commenced investigation into the matter.
Late Mairuwa was shot at close range in front of his wife.
Family sources disclosed that the assassins told his wife not to panic as they were only after her husband before shooting him twice on the chest.
The corpse of the late driver has been moved to Keana, his home town for burial.
